Amanda M. Oliver (formerly Amanda M. Sleezer) is a founding Partner of Weiss-Kunz & Oliver, LLC. Amanda is known for her thoughtful approach to each case; capturing the heart of the issue and laying it out in a way that is both relatable and persuasive. Her competitive spirit and genuine concern for each client drive her approach. While known as an aggressive advocate in court, Amanda prides herself in her ability to forecast and settle even the most contentious of cases. "Finding the sweet spot to settle the case can sometimes feel like standing in the eye of the storm," says Amanda, "but that's what the great attorneys do."
Throughout the course of her more than 15 years practicing law, Amanda has earned high marks from her clients and peers alike. Recently, Amanda was honored by Crain's Chicago Business as one of their 2024 Notable Women in Law. In 2020, Amanda was honored with the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin's prestigious 40 Under Forty Award. In addition to her Super Lawyer awards (awarded the Super Lawyer title again in 2024), Amanda has historically received the 10 Best Client Satisfaction Award from the American Institute of Family Law Attorneys, and Chicago Magazine even voted her as one of the area's Top Women Attorneys. She has also received recognition as a Top 40 under 40 attorney from The National Advocates.
Don't let Ms. Oliver's aggressive litigation style prevent you from recognizing her as the thoughtful and skilled mediator that she is. In an atmosphere of law that is shifting to a more mediation-focused approach to resolution, Ms. Oliver is ahead of the game. She has an ability to navigate fair and lasting settlements that save time, money and family relationships in even the most acrimonious cases.
A leader in her field, Amanda has argued before the Illinois Appellate Court, published articles and conducted lectures and seminars on a variety of family law topics. Fully committed to her practice, she maintains active memberships with the Illinois State Bar Association, The Chicago Bar Association and the DuPage County Bar Association.
